Haven't heard of spurrite before? You're certainly not alone! This mineral from Mexico is not yet a popular gemstone-but give it time. I some times think of it as a poor man's sugilite. LOL It actually makes wonderful cabochons - not real hard and takes a nice polish. The purple and violet contrast nicely with the beige and white webbing you see on many pieces.
