About the Mussentuchit Mine

Our selenite comes from Mussentuchit Mine in south central Utah.  The selenite was deposited approximately 165 million years ago (Jurassic).  After deposition and burial under subsequent layers of sediment, the selenite moved slowly upward along faults or fractures, and in some cases formed small domes.  The Mussentuchit is one of these domes.  If you'd like to see more pictures of the mine take a look at our video on YouTube -  Selenite Mining at the Mussentuchit Selenite Mine II.         (https://youtu.be/yxiIq7Y2pw8)
